The youngest sister (of four) and disliked by her sisters, Mary is initially a shy girl with a passion for gardening. Her mother is the second wife of her father, after the first wife died. The new wife was not very welcome and passed away when Mary was five years old. Betrothed to Alan Stuart at a young age.
