Character Introduction
Fumiko is Atsushi’s mother and Ikuo’s older sister. In the present, she is involved with a religious cult and her mental state has deteriorated to the point that she isolates herself from everyone else. She is also shown to have been very strict with Atsushi, demanding only stellar accomplishments and seeing everyone as either “winners” or “losers”. Though Fumiko fell in love with her husband and was eager to start a happy family, it is implied that he only married her out of convenience.
